Investing in Our Youth: Senators Feinstein and Padilla’s Support for the Gilroy Youth Impact Center

We are grateful to Senators Feinstein and Padilla for their continued support and advocacy to invest in critical youth services and underresourced communities. The Senate Appropriations Committee has approved its version of the FY24 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies appropriations bill, which includes support for the Gilroy Youth Impact Center. This is a significant step towards making the Center a reality, fulfilling the dream of youth and families in the community.
Given the generational impact of underinvestment in this region, the Center aims to address this disparity by providing a physical space for youth to gather, access resources, and participate in programs that foster leadership, career development, and empowerment.
Youth Alliance and Digital NEST in partnership with the Latino Family Fund of Gilroy and Community Vision, are deeply grateful to Senators Feinstein and Padilla and their colleagues on the Senate Appropriations Committee for their support of the Gilroy Youth Impact Center. We also would like to thank Representatives Lofgren and Panetta for supporting the inclusion of this funding in the proposed legislation. This funding would be transformational for our community, and we are excited to see what the future holds for this important endeavor.
