TRANSFORM

Healing, Justice, and Power

Header-banner-6.png

When youth and their families have access to mentors and safe spaces to connect, heal, engage and lead, they become powerful advocates for change and transform communities.

Bring this vision to South Santa Clara and San Benito Counties.

Community-based organizations are continually threatened by rent hikes and displacement.

Community-owned and shared space is a critical strategy to create permanent affordability and curb displacement threats. Between 2020 and 2021, the average monthly rent in the U.S. saw a 10% increase with 39% of individuals renting because of an inability to afford a down payment on a home.

Youth Alliance has a bold plan to build not one, but two Transformation Hubs in the rural central coast. The Youth Impact Center and Seven Generations Training Institute will provide safe spaces for youth, parents, and communities to connect, heal, innovate, and build personal, family, and community power.

The Seventh Generation Principle stems from an indigenous Iroquois belief, emphasizing that our present choices should contribute to a world that remains sustainable and thriving for seven generations to come. This principle extends beyond environmental considerations and can be extended to interpersonal connections as well, signifying that each decision made should foster long-lasting and sustainable relationships for the well-being of generations to follow.

Designed with guidance by community residents, Youth Alliance’s future homes will be a resource for people to access integrative health access, education recovery, restorative justice, career readiness, and a hub for learning and power building.

YOUTH IMPACT CENTER: A HUB FOR TRANSFORMATION

Access to Learning & Healing

Programming provides opportunities for workshops, counseling, community events, career/educational workshops, transformative justice, and computer and internet access. The Youth Impact Center is a safe space for cultural connection, for LGBTQ+ youth, and for youth of working parents at risk of system Involvement.

Transformative Justice

Youth Alliance's Transformative justice processes include Restorative Justice Training and Capacity Building, political education through uplifting Youth Voice via Youth Media Hubs, and healing circles, among others. We hold space for the community to reimagine alternatives to incarceration. Learn more about our Restorative Justice trainings and technical assistance in practice! Financial & Food Assistance

We assist individuals struggling with food insecurity, rent, and financial literacy classes amid a rapid rising cost of living. So the people who shape our communities, can stay here.

Resource Hub & Referrals

The Youth Impact Center's yearly goal is to reach over 6,000 individuals and provide them support through our after school programs, counseling programs, youth mentor/leadership programs, and advocacy & policy movements. This is a safe space to ask for resources, receive help, and connect with other community agencies for wrap-around support.
